Girls in grades 2 through 6 can try out for the Princeton Little Vikes Girls' Basketball Program on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Princeton High School Arena.
Tryouts run from 1 to 3 p.m., according to an announcement on the Princeton City Schools website posted Oct. 22. The posting invited families to "come build your skills, boost your confidence, and join the Lady Vikes family."
The announcement, signed by Coach Davis, urged families to spread the word. "We can't wait to see our future Lady Vikings on the court," the posting read.
The Lady Vikings varsity program won the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division I state championship in 2023, finishing 28-2 under head coach Dee Davis, a Princeton alumna. That season, according to Springdale City Council minutes from May 17, 2023, the team defeated Olmsted Falls 69-51 in the final and was ranked 24th nationally by MaxPreps.
The announcement did not specify whether a fee applies, contact information or any pre-registration steps. Families looking for more details can check the Princeton City Schools website.
