The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) wants to hear from corridor residents before it finalizes a plan to reshape a stretch of I-75 between the State Route 126 and Shepherd Lane interchanges.

ODOT is accepting online comments on two new design alternatives for the Galbraith Road interchange, part of the larger I-75 Interstate Unification Project. The project would shift I-75's northbound lanes to the southbound side of the highway from the SR-126 (Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway) interchange to just south of the Shepherd Lane interchange, according to the project's public input site.

ODOT says the redesign would add one new lane of travel in each direction. It would also include multiple safety and access improvements at SR-126 and on surrounding local roads.

ODOT District 8 posted on X on Oct. 21 urging residents to weigh in, calling the input site available "24/7 through early November."

New alternatives follow earlier feedback

The current comment period focuses narrowly on two new Galbraith Road alternatives, labeled 3A and 3B. ODOT developed them after receiving several hundred comments during a 2025 virtual public open house, according to the project site.

That earlier round presented four Galbraith Road options and two Wayne Avenue interchange options. ODOT has since selected a preferred design for Wayne Avenue: a new single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Millsdale Street and Wayne Avenue.

Previous public comments ranged from full support for any alternative that would improve mobility to general opposition to unifying the interstate, according to the project site.
