Princeton is the top-ranked Division I football team in Ohio.

The Vikings captured 15 of 19 first-place votes in the Associated Press Division I state poll released Tuesday, Sept. 29, climbing from No. 2 to No. 1 with 186 total points. Lakewood St. Edward (5-1) sits second with 148 points, and Cincinnati Elder (5-1) dropped from the top spot to third with 137, according to the Journal-News.

The ranking follows Princeton's 48-22 rout of Lakota East on Friday, Sept. 25, which pushed the Vikings to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the Greater Miami Conference (GMC). Princeton has won four of its six games by more than 20 points and scored at least 27 in every contest.

Running back Jordan Hall powered the Lakota East win with 150 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries. Quarterback Key'Sean Torbert completed 15 of 24 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown, then added 130 yards and another score on eight rushes, according to WLWT. The two combined for 497 yards of total offense.

Princeton built a 28-14 halftime lead and pulled away with two more scores in the third quarter.

The unbeaten run has not been without drama. In Week 5, the Vikings survived six turnovers to beat Lakota West 27-24 on a Jordan Hall 3-yard touchdown run with 3:20 left.

"We won ugly," head coach Andre Parker told TriStateFootball.com after the Vikings' Sept. 18 win over Lakota West. "You don't have six turnovers and win a game. You have to be a special team to do that."

The Vikings are also No. 1 in the TriStateFootball.com Blitz 5 Top 25 regional poll and the only unbeaten squad remaining in the GMC.

Princeton's roster features several college-bound standouts. Four-star receiver Lorenzo McMullen Jr. and four-star Michigan commit Monsanna Torbert headline the group, joined by three-star Kentucky commit Jaylen Mercer and three-star Ohio State target Jordan Hall, according to On3.

The No. 1 Vikings host Mason (2-4, 2-3 GMC) for homecoming Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium. It will be the first varsity football game on the new Pat Mancuso Field, named for former Princeton coach Pat Mancuso, who won 305 games and three state titles between 1960 and 1997. Pat Mancuso will be in attendance for the homecoming game.

Tickets are $11 at the gate. Students can buy pre-sale tickets at lunch for $5, according to Princeton City Schools.
