A 24-year-old man was arraigned Tuesday, July 28, on felonious assault and gun charges for shooting a teenager in a Sharonville parking lot five months ago.
Jayon Jackson faces charges in the Tuesday, Feb. 17, shooting of a 15-year-old outside the King Quick Food Mart on Chesterdale Road, according to Local 12. Police believe Jackson pulled the trigger. The teen was seriously injured, WLWT reported.
A judge set Jackson's bond at $35,000.
How police built the case
Court papers show investigators used surveillance video, cellphone records, and interviews with other suspects to identify Jackson as the shooter. The investigation stretched more than five months before the arraignment.
Jackson's attorney said at the arraignment that "Jackson denies any involvement in the shooting and has cooperated with police," according to Local 12.
Second suspect faces trial in August
Damin Lewis was charged in February 2026 in connection with the same shooting. Court papers say Lewis served as the getaway driver and lied about knowing the shooter. He faces trial in August on an obstruction charge.

The Sharonville Police Department recorded four felonious assaults in 2024, according to the department's annual report. That figure was down from five in 2023 and seven in 2022. The department closed 132 of 146 assigned cases in 2024, a 90% closure rate.
