Sharonville residents wondering what to do with old paint cans, dead batteries or leftover chemicals can get answers at a free presentation Sept. 24 at the Sharonville Branch Library.
Hamilton County ReSource, the county's recycling and waste-reduction agency, will host "Hard-to-Recycle Items and Hazardous Waste Presentation: What You Need to Know" at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the library, 10980 Thornview Dr. The session is the closest of three library presentations to the Princeton corridor communities.
The presentation covers items most people have at home but struggle to dispose of properly: tricky plastics, electronics, batteries and hazardous household chemicals. Staff will walk through specialty recycling options, drop-off locations and resources for keeping those materials out of the landfill, according to Hamilton County ReSource.
No registration fee is required.
County-wide drop-off event in October
Beyond the library sessions, Hamilton County ReSource will hold a Household Hazardous Products Collection Event on Oct. 2 from noon to 6 p.m. in the Norwood area. The event is open to all Hamilton County residents. An exact address has not been published; residents can sign up for email notifications through the agency's website to receive location details.
Residents should not bring hazardous materials to the ReSource office. The agency asks that residents use its online tools or attend a collection event instead.

Between events, Hamilton County ReSource maintains a free Recycling & Disposal Locator covering more than 300 items. Residents who can't find what they need can email [email protected] for help identifying the best option.
