Paris Johnson Jr., the former Princeton High School lineman now starting for the Arizona Cardinals, headlines the school's 21st Athletics Hall of Fame class, announced Aug. 17, by Princeton City Schools.

Johnson will be formally inducted alongside girls basketball coach Jill Phillips, quarterback Jarrell Williams, basketball and track standout Bernice Linner, athletic trainer Ed Hartwig and the 1989 state champion 4x800 meter relay team at a reception Friday, Feb. 12, 2027, at the Delta Hotel in Sharonville. The inductees will also be recognized at the varsity basketball game Feb. 13, 2027.

Johnson, a 2020 Princeton graduate who transferred to the school for his senior year from St. Xavier, earned First Team All-Ohio and All-American honors along with the Anthony Muñoz Award before heading to Ohio State. The Cardinals selected him sixth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the club exercised his $19 million fifth-year option in April. Sports Illustrated listed him as a "franchise cornerstone" entering the 2026 season.

He also founded the Paris Johnson Jr. Foundation while still in high school. The organization received the 2022 Armed Forces Merit Award for raising more than $10,000 to assist military veterans, student-athletes and the homeless.

Phillips retired in March 2021 as Princeton's all-time wins leader in girls basketball with a 325-80 record. She won nine Greater Miami Conference titles, seven district titles and the 2014 Division I state championship. That 2014 season earned her AP and Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year honors.

Williams, Class of 2004, was named Ohio Division I Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a senior quarterback in 2003 and signed with the University of Kentucky. Linner, Class of 1982, earned All-GMC and All-Ohio honors in basketball before playing at Morehead State.

Hartwig receives the Lifetime Achievement award for his 25 years as Princeton's first full-time athletic trainer, serving every men's and women's team from 1973 to 1998.

The 1989 relay squad of Gordon Benning, Ty Pates, Jason Williams and Joe Cooper ran a 7:47.86 to beat Dayton Patterson and Cincinnati Withrow for the state title.
