Top-ranked Princeton beat No. 7 Middletown 28-7 on Aug. 28 at Barnitz Stadium to open the season 2-0.

Senior quarterback Monsanna Torbert produced on both sides of the ball. The Michigan defensive back commit completed 15-of-25 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns, rushed 17 times for 104 yards and a score, and recovered a fumble on defense. His 235 total yards and three touchdowns earned him a Friday Night Star nod from WLWT's Blitz Recap.

Jordan Hall added two rushing touchdowns. Princeton piled up 152 yards on the ground and held the ball for nearly 30 minutes.

The win carried extra weight. WLWT reported that the victory avenged both of Princeton's losses to Middletown last season. Middletown entered the game reeling after a 35-3 Week 1 loss to Elder.

Princeton head coach Andre Parker has now guided the Vikings to a 2-0 start with a roster full of new faces. Before the season opener, Parker told WCPO on Aug. 17 that Torbert is "a phenomenal leader … He wants to do everything and play every position."

Torbert has backed that up. In Week 1 on Aug. 20, Princeton stunned then-No. 1 Moeller 31-24 at Paycor Stadium, snapping a 19-game losing streak in the rivalry. Hall ran for over 100 yards in that game, and senior linebacker Derrick Jeffries sealed it with a pick-six.

The Vikings, three-time defending Greater Miami Conference (GMC) champions, are stacked with talent beyond Torbert and Hall. Junior wide receiver Lorenzo McMullen Jr. is a five-star recruit ranked No. 1 in Ohio's 2028 class by the 247Sports Composite. Jeffries, an Austin Peay commit who had 100 tackles last season, anchors the defense alongside Kentucky commit Jaylen Mercer at defensive tackle.

That defense allowed just 16 points per game in 2025, according to TriState Football's preseason analysis. Through two games this fall, it has held opponents to a combined 31 points.

Princeton's next game is Sept. 4 against Colerain at Roettger Stadium in Lockland. The Vikings' home games in September have been moved there while renovations continue at Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium at Pat Mancuso Field. The renovated stadium is scheduled to open Friday, Oct. 2, for Homecoming against Mason.
