Princeton City Schools families will see a $30 instructional fee appear on their students' accounts starting Sept. 9.
The fee applies to every student in kindergarten through 12th grade. Payment is due Oct. 14, according to the district.
The $30 covers textbooks, workbooks, Chromebooks, iPads, printing supplies, equipment for art, drama, music and physical education programs, and field trips. The board of education adopted the fee in 2013 under Board Policy 6152 to reduce costs and standardize materials across all buildings.
The fee is not prorated.
How to pay
Families can pay online through PaySchools Central beginning Sept. 9 by registering an account on the district website at princetonschools.net. Cash, check and credit card payments can also be sent to school with a child or paid at the front office. All cash payments made in school buildings must be exact change.
During the first week of October, the district treasurer will mail invoices to parents of students with outstanding balances. Families who need more time can arrange a payment plan at the building level.
Waivers for families facing hardship
Families experiencing financial hardship may qualify for a fee waiver. Students approved for free lunch will have the instructional fee waived for the period they qualify.
The Community Eligibility Provision provides free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students at Evendale, Sharonville, Springdale, Woodlawn and other district elementary schools, Princeton Community Middle School and Princeton High School. At those schools, families must complete a Household Income Survey to qualify for the fee waiver. Students at the Innovation Center must complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application instead.
The deadline to submit either form is Sept. 24. Paper forms are available from the Food Service Department but take up to 10 school days to process.
Pay to Participate sports deadlines
Student-athletes face separate deadlines for Pay to Participate fees:
- Fall sports: Oct. 14
- Winter sports: Jan. 13, 2027
- Spring sports: April 7, 2027
