The King of the Block trophy is heading back to Princeton for the first time in 35 years.

Senior running back Jordan Hall ran for over 100 yards, scored two rushing touchdowns and hauled in an 84-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Monsanna Torbert as the Vikings beat Moeller 31-24 on Aug. 20 at Paycor Stadium. The win snapped a 19-game losing streak in the rivalry and marked Princeton's first victory over the Crusaders since 1991.

Approximately 10,000 fans packed the lower bowl of the Bengals' home stadium to watch the third consecutive season opener between the two programs, according to Local 12. As we reported Tuesday, the game was moved to Paycor while renovations continue at Princeton's Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium at Pat Mancuso Field.

Moeller struck first. Greylo Coach scored on an eight-yard run in the opening quarter to put the Crusaders up 7-0. Princeton answered, and Torbert connected with Hall on the 84-yard bomb that swung momentum before halftime. At the break, Torbert was 5-of-13 for 132 yards with one interception and the long touchdown.

The Vikings sealed it in the fourth quarter when Derrick Jeffries returned an interception for a touchdown, WCPO's Mike Dyer reported. Moeller's Phil Bailey caught a late touchdown and the Crusaders recovered the onside kick, but they ran out of time.

"We're an adventure every day," Princeton head coach Andre Parker told WCPO. "A lot of new faces, a lot of young faces. So every day as coaches you've got to bring your hard hat."

Princeton (1-0) entered the season as three-time Greater Miami Conference champions and a 2025 Division I regional semifinalist. Torbert, a Michigan verbal commit as a defensive back, transferred from Taft where he earned all-state honors at quarterback last season. Moeller held a 41-8 all-time series lead dating to 1965 before Thursday's result.

Princeton alum Kevin Hill told WLWT the atmosphere lived up to the billing: "The stadium was absolutely electric. The whole bottom bowl was full of people."

The Vikings travel to Middletown on Aug. 28 at Barnitz Stadium. Princeton's September home games will be played at Roettger Stadium in Lockland, starting with Colerain on Sept. 4 followed by Sycamore on Sept. 11 and Lakota West on Sept. 18. The first game back at Pat Mancuso Field is scheduled for Oct. 2. Moeller (0-1) hosts Groveport Madison at Mount St. Joseph University on Aug. 28.
