SPCA Cincinnati's Tails on the Trail 5K moves to Francis RecreAcres Park in Sharonville this fall, with registration now open for the Oct. 10 fundraiser.
The Sharonville Convention Center announced Aug. 27 that the pet-friendly run/walk is back. The event raises money for homeless animals in SPCA Cincinnati's care.
This year's venue is new. The City of Sharonville noted on Facebook that the race has moved to the Great Parks of Hamilton County site within city limits.
What to expect
The morning includes a 5K Run, Walk/Dog Walk and Kid's Walk, according to the event's registration page. A Fall Paw-ty and Pet Costume Contest follows the races.
Dogs and cats are welcome, but participants can also run or walk without a pet.
Schedule:
- 8 a.m. — Registration opens
- 8:30 a.m. — 5K Run
- 9 a.m. — Walk
- 9:15 a.m.–12:30 p.m. — Fall Paw-ty & Pet Costume Contest
How to register
Registration costs $30 and includes a long-sleeve event tee and a Hill's Pet Nutrition swag bag. Early bird pricing ends Aug. 31, according to EverythingCincy.
The event also features a vendor village, dog activities and shelter tours, according to the Northern Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce.
SPCA Cincinnati's Fur Ball Gala, held at the Sharonville Convention Center in April, raised more than $639,000 for the organization's animal care mission.
