Sharonville library offering free homework help for K-8 students

Families with school-age kids in Sharonville can send their children to the local library for free, one-on-one homework help in reading and math three evenings a week during the 2026-2027 school year.

The Sharonville Branch Library at 10980 Thornview Dr. is one of 21 Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library (CHPL) branches participating in the system's afterschool homework assistance program, according to an Aug. 25 WLWT report.

The program is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. No appointment is needed.

At the Sharonville branch, hours run Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. Those evening hours are notably later than most other participating branches, which wrap up by 6 or 7 p.m., making the Sharonville location a practical option for families who need after-dinner help.

Senior branch manager Stephanie Liming oversees the Thornview Drive location. She was identified in that role at Sharonville City Council's March 31 meeting.

Meals at other branches, not Sharonville

Separately, CHPL is partnering with UMC Food Ministry to provide free afterschool meals and snacks at 17 branch locations Monday through Friday throughout the school year. The Sharonville branch is not among the meal sites.

The meal program serves children and teens 18 and under, plus young adults ages 19 to 21 with disabilities who are enrolled in Individualized Education Programs. According to Feeding America data cited in the WLWT report, more than 42,000 children in Hamilton County live in food-insecure households.
