Stewart Elementary families will get their first structured look at what their children are learning this year when grade-level teacher teams present at Curriculum Night on Aug. 27.

The evening is split into two sessions: Pre-K through second grade families meet from 6 to 6:30 p.m., and third through fifth grade families follow from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Teachers will walk parents through curriculum for each grade level and outline classroom expectations and procedures, according to an announcement on the school's website.

The event comes two weeks after classes began on a staggered schedule, with grades 1-5 starting Aug. 13 and Pre-K and kindergarten students joining Aug. 17. The district has emphasized family engagement as a priority this school year under Superintendent Dr. Mari E. Phillips.
