Hamilton County voters can cast early ballots until 7:30 p.m. on weekday evenings through Friday, Oct. 30, at the Board of Elections in Norwood.

The evening and weekend hours give Evendale, Woodlawn, Sharonville and Springdale residents several more chances to vote before the early window closes Sunday, Nov. 1. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

All early voting takes place at the Hamilton County Board of Elections, 4700 Smith Road in Norwood. That is the only early voting location in the county, according to WCPO. Voters cannot use their neighborhood polling places until Election Day.

Here is the schedule, as listed by the Board of Elections:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Oct. 30: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 31: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 1: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 2: No early voting.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 3 (Election Day): 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at local polling places

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot has passed. Voters who planned to vote on Election Day can still switch to early in-person voting at the Norwood location instead.

Voters who requested an absentee ballot but want to vote in person can do so. Their ballot will be provisional, meaning it will be counted after eligibility is verified, WCPO reported.

Bring a valid form of identification. Accepted forms include a U.S. passport, driver's license, military ID or photo ID.

The Board of Elections administrative building was briefly evacuated Saturday, Oct. 24, after election workers reported finding a suspicious white powder in the mail, WLWT reported. Police and hazardous-materials crews cleared the building a short time later. The early voting center was not affected.

Sherry Poland, director of the Hamilton County Board of Elections, told WLWT what happened. "When staff was opening the mail this morning, a white powdery substance was contained inside an envelope that spilled out onto a table," Poland said. She said evacuation procedures were put into place and first responders arrived quickly. The substance had not been identified as of WLWT's Oct. 24 report, and Norwood police were investigating.

The Board of Elections website also announced a public test of its vote-counting system at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Smith Road office. The test is open to the public.
