Princeton earned the No. 1 ranking in the final Associated Press Ohio Division I football poll after completing a 10-0 regular season.
The Vikings collected seven of 11 first-place votes and 106 total points in the poll released Wednesday, Oct. 28, according to the Journal-News. Princeton was one of just two unbeaten teams in the Division I top 10, alongside No. 3 Gahanna Lincoln (10-0).
Lakewood St. Edward (9-1) placed second with three first-place votes and 96 points. Gahanna Lincoln collected the remaining first-place vote and 83 points.
The poll caps a regular season in which the Vikings went unbeaten through the Greater Miami Conference. Senior running back Jordan Hall rushed for 919 yards and 21 touchdowns while adding 177 receiving yards and two more scores, according to Yahoo Sports. Hall, a three-star recruit in the class of 2027, committed to Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 24, at a ceremony at Princeton High School.
Princeton completed the regular season Friday, Oct. 23, with a win over Fairfield, according to Yahoo Sports. The Vikings won that game 38-14, On3 reported.
The talent extends well beyond Hall. Michigan commit Monsanna Torbert, who began the season at quarterback before being used in multiple roles, and his brother Key'Sean Torbert anchor the roster, according to cleveland.com. Four-star junior receiver Lorenzo McMullen and Kentucky commit Jaylen Mercer, an edge rusher, give Princeton a deep group of college-bound players.
Hall's breakout came in the season opener. He posted 179 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns in a 31-24 win against Moeller at Paycor Stadium, according to Yahoo Sports.
The Vikings enter the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division I playoffs as the No. 1 seed in Region 4 with a first-round bye. They will host the winner of the No. 8 vs. No. 9 first-round game. Elder (8-2) holds the No. 2 seed, Lakota West (9-1) is No. 3 and Archbishop Moeller (7-3) is No. 4, cleveland.com reported. Higher seeds host through the first three rounds. Regional finals through the state championship will be played at neutral sites, with the Division I title game set for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
Princeton's second-round opponent will come from a first-round matchup between No. 8 Lebanon (7-3) and No. 9 Middletown (6-4).
