Chamberlain University's new Sycamore Township campus is accepting nursing students with no prerequisite courses, no application fee and no waitlist.
The campus at 5905 E. Galbraith Road, Suite 3000, in Sycamore Township's Kenwood Collection enrolled its first class Aug. 31 and offers a three-year path to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), according to Village Press Cincinnati. The facility can hold up to 450 students. It is Chamberlain's 25th location nationwide and second in Ohio, joining a Columbus campus open since 2007.
Across Chamberlain's two Ohio campuses, more than half the students aren't fresh out of high school. As of fall 2025, 52% were over 25, according to the university's Ohio program page.
"The biggest myth is that you have to be a fresh high school graduate with a straight-A science background and no major outside responsibilities," Priya Shastri, executive campus director for Chamberlain Cincinnati, said at the Aug. 20 ribbon cutting. "In reality, life experience, empathy, and adaptability are just as critical as academic prep, and adult learners often make some of the most extraordinary nurses."
How the schedule works
The Cincinnati campus runs three 16-week semesters per year, each split into two eight-week sessions. That creates up to six start dates annually. Evening and weekend scheduling is available, according to the Cincinnati campus page.
For applicants, the admissions process is direct entry. Students submit transcripts and qualifying scores from the HESI Admission Assessment (a standardized nursing entrance exam), TEAS, SAT or ACT taken within the past five years. Applicants without recent scores can schedule one HESI attempt through Chamberlain.
Chamberlain awarded $422,000 in scholarships to eligible students on its Ohio campuses in 2024 and 2025 combined. The Columbus campus, open since 2007, posted a 98.36% pass rate on the NCLEX (the national nursing licensure exam) in 2025, with an average class size of 16 students.
Why it matters locally
Hamilton County Commissioner Denise Driehaus declared Aug. 20 "Chamberlain University Day" in the county. Employers across the Cincinnati metro posted nearly 50,000 healthcare job openings in 2025, with six open positions for every healthcare graduate in the region, according to the Loveland-Symmes Chronicle, citing the 2026 Covista Care Capacity Monitor. Covista is Chamberlain's parent company.
Chamberlain and Covista also announced a three-year, $150,000 partnership with The Health Collaborative to bring healthcare career programs to Cincinnati-area middle and high school students.
The first Cincinnati cohort is set to graduate in 2029. Prospective students can reach the campus at 877-751-5783.
