Unbeaten Princeton can clinch at least a share of its fourth straight Greater Miami Conference championship when it hosts Oak Hills at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16. The 8-0 Vikings have already secured a Division I, Region 4 playoff berth, according to Joe Eitel’s unofficial calculations.
The Vikings secured a top-eight seed in D-I Region 4, according to playoff projections analyst Joe Eitel, as reported by WCPO. Princeton, ranked No. 1 in Division I by the Journal-News, rolled through its first eight opponents without a loss.
The playoff clinch came after Princeton routed Hamilton 60-6 on Friday, Oct. 9. Quarterback Key'Sean Torbert went 10-of-13 for 176 yards and four touchdowns and added a 33-yard rushing score, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Princeton was averaging 40.9 points per game entering Week 8, per cleveland.com.
Week 9: Oak Hills at Princeton
The game is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Princeton High School. Oak Hills head coach Dan Scholz brings a Highlanders squad that dropped to 4-4 after a 36-35 loss to Sycamore on Oct. 9. The Enquirer described Oak Hills as "squarely on the bubble" for a playoff spot, with games remaining against Princeton and Lakota West to close the regular season.
Sycamore's upset of Oak Hills ranked as the fourth-biggest upset in Ohio this season, according to the Journal-News. The Highlanders had entered the week as 33-point favorites.
Princeton's roster features four-star receiver Lorenzo McMullen Jr. and four-star Michigan commit Monsanna Torbert, senior defensive back and former starting quarterback who transferred from Taft, where he earned Division IV first-team all-state honors in 2025. In the Week 7 win over Mason, Torbert caught a 34-yard pass from Key'Sean Torbert while the defense held Mason to just 48 yards, according to cleveland.com's Ohio Big 25 rankings.
The Vikings' signature conference win came Sept. 18 against Lakota West, when Princeton survived six turnovers to beat the then-No. 3 Firebirds 27-24. Jordan Hall scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 3-yard run with 3:20 left, as reported by TriStateFootball.
"We won ugly," head coach Andre Parker said after that Sept. 18 win. "You don't have six turnovers and win a game. You have to be a special team to do that."
Oak Hills needs wins to stay in the playoff picture. Princeton needs one more to add another GMC banner.
