KDM Signs, an Evendale printing and retail marketing company, has been awarded a state tax credit expected to bring 121 full-time jobs and $6.12 million in new annual payroll to the village.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) approved the credit Aug. 24 as part of 13 projects statewide. Those projects together are expected to create 3,553 new jobs, generate nearly $310 million in new payroll and result in more than $1.1 billion in investments across Ohio.

KDM's award is a 1.303 percent Job Creation Tax Credit lasting eight years. The company must hit its hiring and payroll targets by Dec. 31, 2029.

The expansion hinges on a consolidation decision. The governor's office said the company is weighing whether to choose Cincinnati for that consolidation. If selected, KDM would increase capacity and expand operations in the market.

State Rep. Karen Brownlee, D-Symmes Township, announced the award Sept. 2. She called the credit a product of "collaboration between residents, businesses, local government, and state government."

Founded in Cincinnati in 1970 as a screen printing shop, KDM now provides printing and finishing services, point-of-purchase displays, custom fixtures, store décor and logistics support. The company joined the Hirt & Carter brand family in 2026, extending its footprint to Durban, South Africa.

The 121 new positions would boost KDM's workforce by more than 90 percent, according to JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef in a REDI Cincinnati announcement. The company plans to establish its Cincinnati-area operations as a North American center of excellence for retail marketing and print services.

That is a significant jump for a single employer in the corridor.

"Cincinnati provides the combination of talent, infrastructure and connectivity we need to support our next phase of growth," KDM CEO Adam Curtis said in the REDI Cincinnati announcement Aug. 24. "… We are excited to continue investing in our people and operations here."

KDM must create all 121 positions and reach the $6.12 million payroll threshold by Dec. 31, 2029, the only publicly confirmed milestone for the project.
