The Princeton Board of Education approved a police safety agreement, two transportation contracts and a license to play football at Paycor Stadium during a special meeting Aug. 3, clearing a backlog of logistics just 10 days before the first day of school.

All four board members present (Jon Simons, Jodi Kessler, Mary Cleveland and Gina Moore) approved every item without recorded dissent, according to meeting minutes. The meeting began at 4:07 p.m. in the Viking Room at Princeton High School.

Sharonville police returning for school safety

The board renewed its memorandum of understanding with the Sharonville Police Department for the 2026-2027 school year. The MOU covers school safety services, though the district has not disclosed the dollar amount or specific terms. Kessler moved the item as part of the consent agenda.

Busing contracts extended through 2029

Two transportation deals were approved. Universal Transportation Systems will continue providing student transportation for 2026-2027 under a renewal contract. Separately, the board extended its agreement with First Student for the 2027-2028 and 2028-2029 school years. First Student has been the district's primary busing provider since 2014-2015, when Princeton first contracted with an outside company for transportation.

Neither contract's dollar value appeared in the meeting minutes.

Paycor Stadium game made official

The board formalized a Paycor Stadium License Agreement for the Vikings' season opener against Archbishop Moeller on Aug. 20, at 7:07 p.m. As we reported Aug. 3, the game was moved to the Bengals' home because Princeton's Pat Mancuso Field at Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium is undergoing renovations. Athletic Director Joe Roberts said the district expects to return to Pat Mancuso Field for Week 3 against Colerain.

General admission tickets are $12 plus fees; students can buy advance tickets for $5 the week of Aug. 17. Parking is $10.

"To have an opportunity to take our school and Moeller down to Paycor Stadium — that's going to be an experience that students will remember for years to come," Roberts told WCPO on Aug. 3. "They'll look back — may not always remember the wins and losses — but they'll remember experiences they had."

Stadium renovation hits sixth change order

The board also approved Facilities Construction Change Order #6 with Megen Construction, the latest adjustment to the ongoing Princeton High School stadium project. The renovation includes a new fieldhouse, parking, a new entry, a practice field and a visitor team building. The board had approved Change Order #4 at its April 27 special meeting; the scope and cost of Change Order #6 were not detailed in the minutes.
