Evendale police made 32 arrests in September 2026, a jump from 26 in August and 21 in the same month last year.
The department's monthly activity report, signed by Chief Tim Holloway, covers Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, 2026. It shows 23 offense reports, 28 traffic accidents and a continued rise in DUI enforcement across the village.
Theft dominated the offense count. Seventeen of the 23 reported offenses were thefts. The remaining cases included one assault, one robbery and four offenses listed as "Other," a category the report does not define. No homicides, burglaries, breaking-and-entering offenses, rapes, auto thefts or vandalism/criminal-damaging offenses were reported.
Arrests and DUI enforcement
Of the 32 arrests, 15 were on outstanding warrants, 15 were misdemeanor arrests and two were felony arrests. Six of the misdemeanor arrests involved driving under the influence. The report also lists four driving-under-suspension cases.
The DUI numbers stand out in year-over-year context. Through Sept. 30, Evendale officers had made 30 DUI arrests in 2026, compared with 13 through the same period in 2025, when the village recorded just 16 DUI arrests for the entire year according to the department's year-end report. Nine months into 2026, the department has nearly doubled that full-year total.
Outstanding-warrant arrests have also climbed. Officers made 139 warrant arrests through Sept. 30, up from 86 through the same point in 2025.
Traffic
Officers responded to 28 auto accidents in September: 25 with no injuries and three with injuries. They issued 36 traffic citations, filed 41 traffic charges and handed out 22 written warnings.
Year-to-date traffic citations reached 428 through Sept. 30, more than double the 197 issued through the same period last year.
Offenses trending lower, arrests rising
While enforcement activity rose, total offenses fell. The department logged 184 offense reports through Sept. 30, down from 234 through the same point in 2025. Total arrests moved in the opposite direction, reaching 262 year-to-date compared with 218 a year earlier. Theft reports also declined, with 109 through September compared with 153 at the same point last year.
