Princeton opened the renovated Pat Mancuso Field with a 47-0 homecoming rout of Mason on Friday, Oct. 2, improving to 7-0 and staying unbeaten atop the Greater Miami Conference.
The game was the first varsity football contest on the newly renovated field inside Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium. Coach Pat Mancuso, the field's namesake, was in attendance, according to Princeton City Schools. Pre-game festivities included recognition of community officials and a staff appreciation ceremony.
The Vikings left no doubt. Princeton jumped to a 20-0 first-quarter lead and never let Mason reach the end zone.
Quarterback Key'Sean Torbert completed 16 of 20 passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns, according to cleveland.com. He also added a rushing touchdown. Five-star junior wide receiver Lorenzo McMullen Jr. hauled in 10 catches for 148 yards and three touchdowns, connecting with Torbert on scoring plays of 34, 28 and 9 yards.
David Fields opened the scoring with a 50-yard touchdown reception. Running back Jordan Hall punched in a 12-yard touchdown and finished with 62 yards on nine carries. David White Jr. added a punt-return touchdown, and kicker Maurice Holloway converted five extra points.
"It was a great win; it was a great night," head coach Andre Parker said. "We came out and we played some pretty darn good football."
The shutout continued a dominant stretch for the Vikings, who have scored at least 27 points in every game this season, according to TriStateFootball.com. Princeton entered the Oct. 2 game ranked No. 1 in the cleveland.com Southwest Ohio poll and No. 5 in the Ohio Big 25.
The win also kept Princeton in first place in Division I, Region 4, where OHSAA playoff seeding will be determined at season's end.
The Vikings came into 2026 off a 9-3 season and a Division I regional semifinal appearance in 2025. After surviving six turnovers in a 27-24 win over Lakota West on Sept. 18, Parker told TriStateFootball.com, "You don't have six turnovers and win a game. You have to be a special team to do that."
Friday's performance against Mason was far cleaner.
Halftime festivities included the Pride of Princeton Marching Band and the crowning of the 2026 Homecoming Queen and King.
Princeton travels to Hamilton in Week 8.
